My work focuses on “gamifying” everyday activities, encouraging players to build relationships in a reality caused by capitalistic greed. My games are scrappy, playful, and community-focused.
I create my games both individually and collaboratively. My analog game, Shoppers vs. Shoplifters, pits two groups against each other, encouraging both teamwork and competition. In my narrative game, Apocalypse Shopping, I use descriptive adjectives to invoke reactions from players. I also include different story branches that let players build relationships with characters, whether it has a positive or negative outcome. My digital game, Apocalypse Hangout, uses various forms of media, such as sound, asset art, and coding, to immerse players in a 2D world and visit their virtual NPC friend.
I believe that games are a form of resistance and help to bring people together. My art focuses on using what you have and what you can create when a community comes together, rather than relying on a system that creates barriers and encourages greed.
