This is the first game from my game design class. The concept of this game came from a brainstorming session where I combined the ideas of apocalypse and shopping. I decided to mix the ideas of apocalypse and shopping.
As a game designer, I want to immerse players in this world through descriptive wording. As players progress in the story, I want their decisions to evoke a range of emotions and reflect on their choices.
Game Bible
Premise:
It’s been 3 months since the apocalypse and you've run out of food. You take a risky adventure to your local abandoned grocery store to pick up some food.
Locations and regions:
Your Shelter - The bunker that you’ve spent the last three months in.
Walmazon+ - An abandoned grocery store with unknown creatures.
Gods/Culture:
Terry - TeeVee's Creator.
Factions:
Survivors - The last of the human survivors.
Mutated creatures - Mutated humans, giant insects, and fused species.
AI appliances - Sentient electronic units. They could be either friend or foe.
Characters:
The Player - You are a naive and confident survivor. You have been sheltered for all of the apocalypse.
Cameron - The oldest frightened child in the grocery store
Lex - The youngestfrightened child in the grocery store
TeeVee - A sentient TV that was brought to life by an employee at Roku-Fire.
